Hello,
I am providing you with an update on this request. I am taking this request over from my coworker, Michael. Additionally, I closed G009117 as a duplicate to this request.
I am in the process of locating and obtaining any blank copies of any identifiable forms used by the department.
I do need clarification on the first part of your request. Do you require only the policies and procedures for the Department? When you say you want all manuals, what do you mean by manuals? Do you mean something in addition to the policies and procedures? If so, can you describe what you are looking for?

I want to ensure I am providing you with the records you are seeking.
I still plan to have an installment to you on, or before, 8/2/2024, as previously scheduled with Michael.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Jeremiah Schuetze

Hello,
Thank you for your message on 8/1/2024. This request, identified by tracking number G009117 was closed as a duplicate to G009099.
G009099 has an installment due today, however, it will not be closed for quite some time as this request is quite large.
As for your clarification regarding looking for "any documents regarding department policies and procedures for all DAJD job titles." Many positions at DAJD do not have a specific policy/procedure manual for them. I will address this in my installment to you later today under G009099.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

August 02, 2024 Re: G009099-070824 Dear Rose Terse Thank you again for the public records request which the King County Executive Branch received from you on July 08, 2024. We understand you are seeking the following records: "Pursuant to the Washington Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

- All job-related manuals regarding KC DAJD correctional officer policies and procedures
- Blank copies of all department forms or templates currently used by KC DAJD correctional officers

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires." The first installment of records responsive to your request is available to you now in the Public Records Request Center. Click the link below to retrieve the records. Please note that the link works best with the Google Chrome browser, and any pop-up blockers need to be turned off. General Records Request - G009099-070824 This installment contains an index of all DAJD forms and an index of the Adult Division Policies and a Department wide index of policies (this one may include policies for Juvenile and Administration divisions). Per my message to you earlier today, under G009117, we do not have policies tied directly to the Corrections Officer positions, rather policies that may or may not be utilized by Corrections Officers. The same goes for forms, as there are over 1200 forms listed in the index and many of them may be used by Corrections Officers, but are not specifically for only Corrections Officers. If you could read through the indexes I have provided to you and get back with me on which Forms and policies you may want, I can begin to process them. If I hear back from you soon, I can have an installment ready for you by 8/14/2024. If I do not hear back from you by 8/14/2024, I will send another email asking for clarification on exactly which forms and policies you need. Please contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Jeremiah Schuetze Public Records Coordinator 206.263.3709

From: Rose Terse

Hi Jeremiah,

Thanks for sending these indexes over! In terms of the policies, please provide the full text for all of the policies listed in both indexes you provided. Let me get back to you about which forms I am looking for.

Thank you,
Rose

From: Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention

Hello,
Thank you for your message on 8/11/2024, advising you wanted all of the Policies listed in the policy index I provided to you, and that you will advise me on which forms you require at a later date.
I had originally scheduled an installment for 8/14/2024, however, I was out of the office the last couple of days and did not have access to my files. As such, I have rescheduled the installment for Monday 8/19/2024.
For the policies, I will provide the policies in order starting with Chapter 1 and proceeding through until I have released all of them. Some of the installments with policies will be larger than others, as some policies will require redactions and some will not.
If you can provide me with the list of forms at your earliest convenience, I can begin gathering them as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,

August 19, 2024 Re: G009099-070824 Dear Rose Terse Thank you again for the public records request which the King County Executive Branch received from you on July 08, 2024.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires." The 2nd installment of records responsive to your request is available to you now in the Public Records Request Center. Click the link below to retrieve the records. Please note that the link works best with the Google Chrome browser, and any pop-up blockers need to be turned off. General Records Request - G009099-070824 This installment contains DAJD policies from Chapters 1 and 2. There were no redactions applied to this installment. I have scheduled the next installment for 9/23/2024. Please contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Jeremiah Schuetze Public Records Coordinator 206.263.3709
