To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Would it be at all possible for you to send me a copy of the City of Knoxville Pension System's monthly investment report as of June 30, 2019? I would particularly be interested in any section of this report containing an overview of the performance of your private equity investments.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.
Please note that I am a citizen of Tennessee, and am using MuckRock's services to help manage and track my request.
Sincerely,
Kent Hoover

Kent,
In response to your open records request, access to records under the Tennessee Public Records Act is only required to be given to citizens of the State of Tennessee. In order to verify citizenship, Tenn. Code Ann. § 10-7-503(a)(7)(a) permits a records custodian to require a person requesting to view or receive copies of public records to present a photo identification, issued by a governmental entity, that includes the person's address. Please provide me with a copy of a valid photo identification, issued by a governmental entity, that includes your address so that I may verify that you are a citizen of the State of Tennessee. Should you be unable to do so, your public records request will be denied.
Thank you,
Kristi Paczkowski
