Pursuant to the Louisiana Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
All current policies maintained by the department regarding use of force.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

R.S. 44:32(C)(1)(a)] the charge (inclusive of postage) for the requested records, burned upon a Compact Disc, is $21.36. Once payment is received, I will mail the responsive CD to your office.

Could you please provide an itemized breakdown of the cost? $21.36 is much higher than most agencies charge.
And is it possible to have the document sent electronically as a pdf? That's much more convenient since laptops don't have cd drives anymore.

We do not send electronic responses to Record Requests. The $21.36 fee is comprised of $20 for the compact disc and $1.36 for postage. Should you elect to have hard-copies of the documents mailed to you, the fee would be $22.26 (that is $1.76 for postage and $20.50 for the copying fee; of course, I would also need the Mailing Address you'd like the documents sent to).
Once you have made a decision of which option you'd prefer, please remit full payment to my attention at the address below (the check or money order should be made payable to the "Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office"; please include a copy of this email for quicker reference).
