Request for Body Cam Footage of Incident

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

I am writing to formally request access to the bodycam footage under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) related to the arrest of Cori Lynne Ralston following a stabbing incident in Clermont, Florida.

Incident Details for Footage Retrieval:

Date: September 4, 2022
Location: Lake Ridge Circle, Clermont, Florida
Suspect: Cori Lynne Ralston, 18
Incident Summary: Deputies responded to Lake Ridge Circle after South Lake Hospital reported that a stabbing victim had left the emergency room without receiving treatment. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim sweating profusely and suffering from a deep stab wound that required transport to Orlando Regional Medical Center as a trauma alert. Initial statements from the victim’s mother falsely claimed the injury was accidental, but another relative later reported hearing an argument between the victim and Ralston. Deputies questioned Ralston, who admitted to arguing with the victim, spraying each other with a kitchen faucet, and then waving a knife, which ultimately stabbed the victim. Due to the severity of the injury, Ralston was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and booked into the Lake County Jail.
I am requesting copies of all body-worn camera footage from officers who responded to the incident, including footage of the initial response, witness statements, and the suspect’s questioning.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
