To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Kentucky Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
· A copy of the standard curriculum currently used for sexual education throughout the school district. If there is different standard curricula for different grade levels, I would like all of those individual curricula.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Paxtyn Merten

We are in receipt of your request for “A copy of the standard curriculum currently used for sexual education throughout the school district. If there is different standard curricula for different grade levels, I would like all of those individual curricula.”
We do not possess any responsive records. Per Kentucky law, decisions on curriculum are made by each school’s Site Based Decision Making Council. All school curriculums meet the requirements of the state health curriculum standards and comply with Jefferson County Board of Education policies, but there is no standard curriculum in use throughout the District.
For more information on Site Based Decision Making Councils, please see https://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/sites/default/files/SBDM_FAQS.pdf
Please also note that the timeline for response to requests under the Kentucky Open Records Act is 3 business days after receipt of the request. Three business days after December 11 is today, Decemeber 14.
