To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

(1) Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, any and all records concerning hearings regarding the dismissal of any police chief conducted pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes, 7-278 since October 1, 1983.
(2) Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, any and all agreements and/or contracts regarding the employment of any police chief since October 1, 1983.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

I am in receipt of your emailed FOIA request of June 28, 2021.

The broad time period of thirty-eight years will require investigation as to where this information would be obtained.

Please note that the Town Clerk’s office may not be the repository of all the records you are requesting. You may want to forward a request to the Board of Police Commission. By Town Charter the Madison Police Chief reports to the Police Commission.

Since your request is for a thirty-eight year period. It would be helpful if you could narrow the search and give the names of the Police Chiefs you are requesting information to help expedite the process. I cannot give a completion period at this time but will continue to communicate with you.

Pursuant to your Freedom of Information request please find the following documents:

1. Since October 1, 1983 attached are the five (5) documents concerning the dismissal of a Madison Police Chief (Anziano)
2. Employment contracts located for Madison Police Chiefs since October 1, 1983: Anziano, Cameron, Nolan, and Drumm

To the best of my knowledge these are the only documents found to be maintained in the Madison Town Clerk's possession. Employment contracts were provided by the Human Resource office to fulfill your request.
