Thank you for reaching out. Wisconsin’s public records law requires that public records requests be reasonably specific as to subject matter. Wis. Stat. §19.35(1)(h). This is intended to prevent the records custodian from having to guess at what records a requester desires, and to avoid imposition of undue burdens on the university that would impair the functioning of the offices that need to be involved in processing a request. To the extent that the first part of your request, for “any and all records and materials...” constitutes a records request, it cannot be fulfilled because it does not identify a specific record or records in which you are interested in as required by Wis. Stat §19.35(1)(h).

Thank you for your inquiry regarding records related to Khari Sanford. Due to the high volume of records requests our department has recently received, we are currently in the process of compiling a public release of the records pertaining to this case.

Given the extensive nature of these records, we are unable to provide a specific timeline for their release. However, we would be happy to notify you once the records become publicly available.

Yes, we do have body-camera footage as well as some interview footage.

As we have stated in previous correspondence with you, we are planning on doing a public release of information in regard to this case at some point in the near future, which would include audio and video footage. We cannot give a guaranteed timeline of when this will be released, but it will likely be several months before any records will be available for release. We will reach out to you if we need anything additional from you
