Good morning Matthew,
Your FOAA request to the Maine State Police MIAC has been forwarded to me. To be clear, you have asked for:
All Advisories, Suspicious Activity Reports, Tips, Intelligence Briefs, Intel Reports, Leads Information or Data, Maps, Bulletins, BOLOs, and/or Joint Bulletins from 7 October 2023 to 14 October 2023 (inclusive) regarding an alleged pro-Hamas "day of jihad" or "day of rage."
Pursuant to 1 MRS §408-A(3), we are required to acknowledge receipt of your request within 5 working days of receiving it. This is that acknowledgement.
Also pursuant to that law, we are required, within a reasonable time of receiving your request, to provide a good faith, nonbinding estimate of the time frame within which we will comply with the request and projected costs to do so. MIAC will review their records for any which may be responsive to this request and then we will redact them as necessary to comply with all Maie law. The time estimates for FOAA requests has two parts: the number of hours best estimated spent on searching and redacting the records & when we will have time to do so. For example, it may be that it takes 90 minutes to search for records and another half hour to review/redact them for a total time estimate of 2 hours. It may further be that we have an hour each month to dedicate to this duty. Our estimate would then tell you that it will take two hours, at no cost to you, and two months to reply. I will get back to you with the estimate as soon as I can, but will update you on Tuesdays.
Thank you for your attention to this note.
Respectfully,
Paul
