Pursuant to Maryland's Public Information Act ("PIA"), I herby request the following records:
- The contract, memorandum of understanding or agreement that established the NVIDIA CUDA Center of Excellence at University of Maryland, which was announced in 2010. The center's creation is outlined here: https://developer.nvidia.com/academia/centers/university-maryland-college-park-ccoe
- Any yearly reports, memos or press releases summarizing activity at the center between 2010 and 2014.
-Any documents detailing changes to the original contract/agreement.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 30 business days, as the statute requires.

This Office serves as counsel to the University of Maryland, College Park. We are in receipt of your February 5, 2015 electronic request for records. Specifically, you asked for,
- The contract, memorandum of understanding or agreement that established the NVIDIA CUDA Center of Excellence at University of Maryland, which was announced in 2010.
- Any yearly reports, memos or press releases summarizing activity at the center between 2010 and 2014.
-Any documents detailing changes to the original contract/agreement.
The Maryland Public Information Act, at Section 4-101 et seq. of the Maryland Annotated Code's General Provisions (GP) Article (hereinafter the "Act") permits the University to charge for the search, preparation and reproduction of a public record, excluding the first two hours.
The University has two (2) documents which are responsive to your request. We regret how long it took to locate these documents.
Consequently, no search and preparation fee is estimated, granting you the first two hours at no charge. Copies of the records are provided electronically here (see attached); thus, negating the need for any reproduction or mailing costs. The University will close out this request.
Please send me a brief reply email confirming successful receipt of the records you requested.
You may seek review of this response in accordance with the Act.
