To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to Maryland's Public Information Act ("PIA"), I hereby request the following records:
A log of public records requests submitted to the Attorney General's office that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the date the request was filled. Ideally I would like this information for the period from 2004 to the present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is made in the process of academic research and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General does not specifically have documents that are responsive to your request. We do not maintain a log of public records requests in the format in which you seek.
Generally, requests come in via these forms:
a) Broad PIA requests. We have an assistant attorney general who handles most of these. In the past, in response to similar requests such as yours, he has provided a screen-shot of his email folder where he keeps the requests. But they go back a few years, not to 2004.
b) Requests that come to our consumer protection division. They maintain a database of all inquiries and requests, and they are not sorted by just PIA requests.
c) Requests that come to our securities division. Again, they are not maintained to sort out PIA-specific requests.
Do you wish to revise, narrow or tailor your request in any particular way, given what I describe above?

Hello Erik:
I am responding to this request. As we previously discussed, you agreed to modify your request to cover the screenshots of file folders maintained by an Assistant Attorney General involved with most of the PIA requests received by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. As I described to you previously, the computer files do not extend back in time to include the full range of dates you request.
I am attaching a file that includes the screen shots that are responsive to your modified request.
