Hello,
In broad terms, the purpose of this Public Records Request is to obtain the total amount of money that the university is spending on legal services against the Graduate Student Union at UMass Dartmouth. This request is not for commercial purposes, nor is it a media inquiry. This request is being made through the MuckRock public platform.
Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, I hereby request the amount of money that has been paid or will be paid from the University of Massachusetts or any of its agents (including UMass Dartmouth) to the Fisher Phillips law firm or any of its agents (including Joseph Ambash) for services and products in any connection with the Graduate Student Union at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Please also include any money obligated, encumbered, requisitioned, invoiced, contracted, retained, or agreed to be paid, as well as the retainer amount agreed upon.
Please list each expense as a separate line item with sufficient details to describe what the expense was for, the organization and account that requested it, the relevant date, the description, the amount, etc.
By the lawful deadline of Monday April 7th 2025 (10 business days from today), please deliver the requested information by spreadsheet in human-readable format.
