Pursuant to the state Freedom of Information Act, G.L.M. c.66, €10, I hereby request the following records:
Documents providing specific information on the student achievement benchmarks of the UMASS School of Law-Dartmouth, and its predecessor institution, including the College GPA Average, College GPA 25th Percentile, College GPA 75% percentile, LSAT Average, LSAT 25th Percentile, LSAT 75th Percentile, Student:Faculty Ratio and ABA First Time Pass Rate for each class from Academic Year 2000-2001 to the current year.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Michael Morisy

Michael: As written, your request for records could require a comprehensive examination of thousands of pages of law school records, requiring many hours of staff time, which the University is unwilling to subsidize. Given the UMass Law School is a new law school rather than the continuation of the previous school, would you consider narrowing your request to the records of the public law school?

Good morning. I have not forgotten your request, but was just waiting for some additional information that would be useful in fulfilling your request. As you recall, we agreed to limit the scope of the request to information related to the UMass School of Law. I will be sending you information by the end of the week.
