Re: Media Request of June 13, 2021. Reference #: P672476-061321
Dear AJ Vicens: The Miami-Dade Police Department ("MDPD") has identified no records that appear to be responsive to your records request dated June 13, 2021. The Narcotics Bureau conducted a search of our files and was unsuccessful locating any reports based on the information provided to us. P er your request of "any materials that outline the department's policies on handling ransomware or digital extortion incidents directed at the department itself, or any component of the department." Our department has not handled any cases of the type mentioned in their request. The only type of extortions we have policies and procedures for are for victims in the county of extortion. Not extortion against our department of any kind. This will close out the request from our end. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us at 305-471-1900. Thank you. Sincerely, Miami Dade Police Department Media Unit
