Dear Mr. Shinneman,

This letter is Mill Valley Police Department’s follow-up response to your California Public Records Act request made via MuckRock in which you request:

1) Any and all records reflecting data collected and recorded by the Police Department in accordance with the California Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA) from January 1 - December 31, 2022, and January 1 - December 31 2024. Please provide the raw data in excel or csv format.

Responsive records to your request:
RIPA data for years 2022, 2023, and 2024 is available to the public on our police webpage: https://www.cityofmillvalley.gov/906/RIPA-Data

California Justice Information Services (CJIS) Crime Offence Code *look-up table is available to the public on our police webpage:
https://www.cityofmillvalley.gov/906/RIPA-Data

*Commencing January 1, 2024, additional stop data collection categories were required, following RIPA regulatory changes. Additionally, the California Department of Justice only accepts data collection entries with a 5-digit CJIS code instead of individual vehicle, penal, health & safety codes. The DOJ provided the look-up table to assist in translating the codes.

2) Any and all reports, records, and analyses created by, for, or at the direction of, the City/Town that pertain to any RIPA data that has been collected by the Police Department from January 1 - December 31, 2022, and January 1 - December 31 2024.
