Pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, I hereby request the following records:

The number of files held by MNJAC under the following categories:
1 ) Case files below the reasonable suspicion standard.
2 ) Case files at (or above) the reasonable suspicion standard.
3 ) Suspicious Activity Reports (aka tips / leads)
4 ) RFIs
5 ) Significant Events

I simply would like the number of files/lists pertaining to each. Please let me know if you require any clarification.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Please know that the Fusion Center does not create case files and does not release SARS, RFIS or Briefs regarding significant events under Minn. I did not request any sensitive law enforcement information. I am appealing the request and re-requesting the numbers corresponding to the original categories. The Fusion Center has released similar information in previous years as was reported in various media outlets. Again, I am not asking for sensitive information which would not be public per MGDPA however I am requesting the number of files. Thank you and please let me know if you need any clarification.

Dear Sam, Thank you for your request to appeal dated February 8, 2021 that was received via U.S. mail by BCA Data Practices on February 16, 2021. (The January 29, 2021 request to appeal you mention was not received by Data Practices.) While there is no statutory appeal process under Chapter 13, in double checking your initial data request, the BCA was able to obtain the attached numbers for the listed years. There are no other responsive data. Thank you.
