Pursuant to the The Missouri Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
Pursuant to the Missouri Sunshine Law and the Missouri Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
A log of public records requests submitted to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the date the request was filled. Ideally I would like this information for the period from 2016 to the present.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is made in the process of research and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

We are following up from our email of April 13, 2021, regarding the status of your request. On April 19, 2021, we received your payment.
As per our email of March 17, 2021, we estimate it will take no more than two weeks to provide the records you have requested, to the extent they are maintained by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
And as stated previously, to the extent information considered closed or confidential is contained within any responsive records, it will be redacted pursuant to § 610.021, RSMo, and any applicable state or federal law.

To the extent the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) maintains responsive records, they have been provided. DESE would also note that to the extent information that is considered closed or confidential is contained in the records, it has been redacted, pursuant to § 610.021, RSMo. Such information may include: identifiable student education information (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act [FERPA] 20 U.S.C. § 1232g and 34 C.F.R. Part 99; § 610.021(6), RSMo); identifiable personal numbers (§§ 610.021(14) and 407.1500, RSMo); information relating to provision of Vocational Rehabilitation services (34 C.F.R. § 361.38 and 5 CSR 20-500.130); and personnel records (§ 610.021(13), RSMo).
