Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Informational copies of all American Indian and Alaska Native death certificates held by the Modoc County Clerk's office.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Hello,
We are in receipt of your public records request, we have forwarded your
request to our County Council for review. However, I wanted to let you
know that the fee for each death certificate will be $21.00 plus $30.00 per
hour for our research fees. This search will take us weeks to perform if
not a month. If you still wish for us to go forward and our county council
approves, you will need to fill out an application for each certificate
that we locate. We will provide you with the name and date of death for you
to fill out the application. You will only be able to receive an
informational copy of the death certificate as the State of California only
allows certain persons to receive an unredacted version.
