Pursuant to the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the West Virginia Open Governmental Proceedings Act, I hereby request the following records:
All policies and training materials maintained by the department regarding use of force.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

In response to your 10-26-2016 request for 'Use of Force', please find attached a copy of sections #32 & 33 of the Monongalia County Sheriffs Office Policy / Procedure Manual. Use of Force (as well as training) may be addressed in some smaller way in other areas of the policy but these are the main sections.
On the request for 'Training Materials' I am requesting some further clarification from you on exactly what you are looking for so that we can narrow our focus to the items that you are interested in. This would include how far back you want to check, if it is individual training, etc... . Please notify me as soon as possible so we can start getting the materials that you request.
There will be no charge associated with this document.
