Pursuant to Montana's Constitution, Article II, ยง 9, I hereby request the following records:
Copies of all "Request and Justification for out-of-state travel" forms submitted in 2013, and to the most recent date possible in 2014, by employees and appointees of the Montana Board of Crime Control.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

This is in response to your request for copies of all "Request and Justification for out-of-state travel" forms submitted in 2013, and to the most recent date possible in 2014, by employees and appointees of the Montana Board of Crime Control. Because of the time involved in providing this documentation (pulling documents, verifying each OOS form to actual expenditures, scanning, and sending), we would charge a fee consisting of staff time for two employees - approximately 6 hours or $205.52.
The State of Montana has a website accessible by the public and free of charge for the type of information you are requesting. The Transparency in Government Portal includes Montana's Checkbook which consists of all non-confidential and unaudited payment information. Through this portal, you can search by fiscal year, department and expenditure categories.
