From: Adrianne Jeffries
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
On October 15, 2019, it was reported that students obtained access to a database containing information about Montgomery County Public Schools students: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/maryland-student-breaches-computer-security-and-steals-data-of-nearly-1350-teens/2019/10/15/e401e3c6-ef5d-11e9-b648-76bcf86eb67e_story.html
I'm seeking the schema (meaning the data fields associated with each record in the database, which would typically appear as column names if the data were represented in a spreadsheet) and data dictionary for the database that was breached.
I am a member of the news media making this request in the interest of newsgathering for the podcast Underunderstood. I'm willing to pay up to $100 in fees.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Adrianne Jeffries
