The General Assembly and its members, staff, committees, and offices are not subject to Georgia laws pertaining to open records. Institute for Justice v. Reilly, 351 Ga. App. 317 (2019), cert. denied, 2020 Ga. LEXIS 146 (February 28, 2020); see Coggin v. Davey, 233 Ga. 407 (1975) (General Assembly is not an "agency" within the meaning of the open meeting laws); O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70(b) ("agency" under open records laws has the same meaning as under open meetings laws).
