Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
The results of a search of the NADDIS pointer index for the Investigative Reporting and Filing System, for the name and identifying information of James John McLaughlin, a known drug trafficker. McLaughlin died in 2002 and privacy concerns recognized under FOIA and Privacy Act are diminished post-mortem.
To identify records, the following information is known about McLaughlin:
Full name: James John McLaughlin
Nicknames: Jim McLaughlin
Date of Birth: September 30, 1934
Date of Death: October 10, 2002
McLaughlin is known to have operated in the following areas but I request that you expand to all records in NADDIS that you may have.
Utica, New York
Kodiak, Alaska
Anchorage, Alaska
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
