From: Melissa Gira Grant
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New York State Freedom of Information Law (1977 N.Y. Laws ch. 933), I hereby request the following records:
The number of prostitution-related offenses that were prosecuted by the Manhattan DA's office in 2015, and for those, what their outcome was (including ACD's and cases in which the defendant was referred to the human trafficking intervention court).
According to public court data, 326 prostitution-related arrests were made in Manhattan in 2015. I can provide the dates and specific charges (e.g., 230.00 - PROSTITUTION, 240.37(2) - LOITERING FOR PROSTITUTION, ED 6512(1) - UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF PROFESSION, etc.) if this will help you in locating these records.
I would prefer the request filled electronically, as a spreadsheet file or similar digital format if available, and sent by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Melissa Gira Grant

Ms. Angelo,
Thank you for your response to my request.
I had requested the records related to 2015 prosecutions; however, if that's bundled in with previous years going back to 2000, as your letter seemed to indicate, I would also appreciate receiving those records, as well. Is that possible?
Best,
Melissa Gira Grant
