Reality Leigh Winner’s Military File

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the United States Air Force’s Personnel Files on Reality Leigh Winner (born in 1992 or 1991), including performance reports, job assessments, disciplinary records, training received, discharge papers, and any other releasable records.

According to publicly available news reports, Winner served in the Air Force as a linguist and was stationed in Columbia, Maryland:

The public interest in Winner, who was recently charged under the Espionage Act for allegedly providing classified material to a news outlet, should favor disclosure of many of these records.

Please note that I am submitting this request under the Freedom of Information Act alone. Please redact or withhold any records whose release would require a Privacy Act waiver signed by the subject of the request.

If you determine that another agency has custody of the requested records, please let me know.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
