From: Police Cam News
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
I respectfully request public records concerning two arrests involving Hurguens Jasmin, a 29-year-old male from Elmont, NY, which occurred in January 2025 and March 21, 2025, both in Elmont and both involving physical altercations with Nassau County Police officers.
Specifically, I request the following records for both incidents:
All body-worn camera footage from all involved officers.
All dash camera footage from patrol vehicles on scene.
All rear-seat (in-cruiser) camera footage during detainment or transport.
The complete incident and arrest reports, including officer narratives, injury reports, use-of-force documentation, booking information, and property/evidence inventories.
Incident Summary for Reference:
March 21, 2025 Arrest
Time: ~3:50 PM
Location: South King Street, Elmont, NY
Charges:
3× Assault 2nd Degree (officer injuries)
Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (property destruction)
Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree (billy club)
Summary: Jasmin fled from officers attempting to arrest him on open warrants. He ran through private property, damaged fencing, resisted arrest, injured three officers, and was found to have a billy club in his waistband. All parties were treated at a local hospital.
This request is made in the public interest, not for commercial use. The incidents involve multiple officers being assaulted and repeated allegations of violent resistance, raising significant public concern over use-of-force, officer safety, and suspect handling in high-risk warrant apprehensions.
I respectfully request a waiver of all applicable fees and ask that responsive records be provided digitally. If any material is withheld, please provide specific statutory exemptions under FOIL and release all redacted, non-exempt content.
Please confirm receipt of this request and provide a timeline for response.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Police Cam News
