Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
NDOC officials have requested the 2021 Legislature approve a $500,000 supplemental appropriation for unanticipated inmate-driven and food costs, which were described as the product of a court mandate. I would like copies of supporting materials maintained by the department and/or submitted to the Governor's Finance Office in support of this request.
I would like to request:
- a copy of the court order that prompted the request
- menus reflecting periods when the department was in compliance with the court order and before the court order. If you would like more specificity, I would request these menus for the first full week of February at High Desert State Prison for the years 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017.
- any grocery receipt or food budget projection for the NDOC system for the month of February 2021. If that is impractical, I would like any grocery receipt or food budget projection for High Desert State Prison for February 2021.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
