Ms. Lipton,

I'm writing to acknowledge your request below. In light of the complexity of your request, I will need to time to determine what records are available in light of the capabilities of our information systems. I believe that I should know more and be able to provide you with a more specific estimate of the time reasonably necessary to determine the extent of available records by the end of next week 2/2/24.

Ms. Lipton,

I apologize for the delay in providing you with an update, as I had previously thought that I’d be able to provide you with a more specific assessment by 2/2/24 of the time reasonably necessary to determine the extent of available records after learning about the reporting capabilities of our systems. Currently, I’m still exploring what data responsive to your request that are systems are able to export, and once that stage is completed, if any information is exempt from disclosure and needs to be redacted, it will also take time to do that. I believe that I should have a handle on the reporting capabilities of our system within the next week or so, and at that point, I’ll be able to give you a picture of whether significant redactions efforts will be necessary. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, Mr. Hilts —

Thank you so much for this update. If it might help for us to have a conversation by phone or Zoom, please let me know, and I'd be glad to speak with you.

Have a great week,

From: New Hampshire State Police

Ms. Lipton,

I’m very sorry I’ve been incommunicado for a couple of months, but I’m picking this back up now. We’ve figured out how extract the majority of the data points you requested, but I’m still working on have the extraction include a description of the records requested. Once I get that, I’ll have to review all of those fields for information that is exempt from disclosure, e.g. personally identifiable information. The output that we have so far is indicating that there is essentially 2000 records in the time period 2020-2023. Unfortunately, our current systems don’t maintain data for the period 2018-2019. Hopefully I can get the final raw output by the end of next week and be able to start evaluating the record descriptions. I’ll keep you posted. Thank you for your patience.
