Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
- A copy of any data release consent forms parents or students are asked to sign
- Any current policy documents or guidelines governing student data usage
- Any amendments made to those forms from 2015-2019
- Documents outlining any third-party programs or applications collecting student data
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Good Morning,
We are in receipt of your emailed FOIA request dated January 8, 2020.
We emailed info@muckrock to verify the authenticity of this request as we
received it multiple times with 2 different reference numbers
(85116-38169478 and 85101-55932405) and were recently a victim of a
ransomware attack.
With that being said, some of the information you requested we no longer
have access to and the cyberattack encrypted all of our data.
Our deadline to respond to your request is Wednesday, January 15th. Please
allow us until the close of business Friday to complete your request.

regarding student records.

- Policy JRCA - School Service Providers' Use of Student Personal
Information
- Coorespondence to parents & students regarding student google accounts
In regards to amendments, as noted in previous correspondence, New Kent
County Public Schools was the victim of a ransomware cyberattack in August
2019 and all of our data was encrypted, therefore we do not have a record of
any amendments. We do however, subscribe to the Virginia School Board
Association's (VSBA) policy services which complies with current
legislation.
