I am a student at Tulane University conducting research regarding the management of plastic waste generated during the city's Mardi Gras celebrations. To enhance the depth of my investigation, I kindly request access to public records that can provide insight into the waste disposal and recycling processes, strategies, and initiatives associated with Mardi Gras plastic waste.
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
- State-level policies, guidelines, or documents related to the handling and disposal of plastic waste generated during Mardi Gras celebrations in Louisiana.
- Permits, licenses, or approvals issued by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to entities involved in waste management and cleanup during Mardi Gras.
- Reports, correspondence, and communication related to environmental impact assessments of Mardi Gras plastic waste disposal and recycling methods in the state.
- Any records or reports detailing state-level initiatives, programs, or measures aimed at reducing the environmental impact of Mardi Gras plastic waste, as well as their effectiveness.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
