From: Nick Hirshon

Dear Mr. Derham:

I am writing to appeal the Jan. 12, 2024, determination to deny my Freedom of Information request for any communication sent to or from employees of the Town of Hempstead, including emails, texts, and letters, from January 1, 2002, to December 30, 2011, retained by the Town of Hempstead pertaining to the potential redevelopment of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and/or the surrounding area known as the Nassau Hub. The Town of Hempstead assigned my request # 2023006303.

The determination stated the Town of Hempstead found no responsive documents but did not explain the search process. The attached news report specifically references an example of communication sent by a Town of Hempstead employee about the Nassau Hub during the timeframe specified in my request. The large scale of the proposed Nassau Coliseum / Nassau Hub redevelopment, and the extensive news coverage it received, suggests that many other Town of Hempstead employees would have sent or received communication about this massive redevelopment in their own town.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Feel free to contact me at nickhirshon@gmail.com with any questions.

Sincerely,
Nick Hirshon

Thank you for the update. Could you please narrow down your search to any emails mentioning either "Charles Wang," "Coliseum," or "Lighthouse" from January 1, 2002, to March 1, 2009?
