Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

Documents from the first day of each month from January 2020 to March 2022 showing the following data points as reported to the Commission of Correction by the New York City Department of Correction:
- Total number of uniformed staff as of that day
- Total number of uniformed staff out sick as of that day
- Total number of uniformed staff absent without leave (AWOL) as of that day
- Total number of uniformed staff out on personal emergency as of that day
- Total number of uniformed staff out on family medical leave as of that day
- Total number of uniformed staff on leave without pay as of that day

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This letter responds to your request for records under the Freedom of Information Law received by State Commission of Correction on March 1, 2022.

With regard to your request for a copy of documents from the first day of each month from January 2020 to September 2020 showing the information provided to the Commission from the NYC Department of Correction related to uniform staff, please be advised that the Commission has conducted a diligent search for records and was not able to locate any records responsive to this request. Please be advised that the NYC Department of Correction did not start reporting this data to the Commission until September 16, 2020.

With regard to your request for a copy of documents from the first day of each month from October 2020 to March 2022 showing the information provided to the Commission from the NYC Department of Correction related to uniform staff, the Commission is granting your request and responsive records are attached.

Pursuant to Public Officers Law ยง89(4)(a) you have 30 days to submit a written appeal of this determination to:
