From: Alfred Ng
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
I am seeking email communications and documents between your department and Genetec, an IP video surveillance company based in Montreal, Quebec. The company is behind Project Green Light in Detroit, a public -- private partnership where local business owners give video camera access to police, who can watch footage in real-time from partnered locations.
I understand that Genetec has also been in talks with New York City officials, and I am requesting for emails and documents between January 2016 and November 2019 related to the company Genetec, its software "Genetec Stratocast," and the "Community Connect" initiative.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Alfred Ng
