From: Mackenzie Farkus

I am appealing the NYPD’s denial of my request FOIL-2019-056-01322, in which I requested “any files related to Storme DeLarverie.” The reason given for my denial was that it was an unwarranted invasion of privacy. However, Storme DeLarverie is not a private person -- she was a well-known activist that would be categorized as a public figure. Furthermore, as evident in The New York Times obituary I sent in my initial request, DeLarverie died in May 2014. (Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/30/nyregion/storme-delarverie-early-leader-in-the-gay-rights-movement-dies-at-93.html).

Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Mackenzie Farkus
