Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
The incident report, a police narrative and any other documentations produced in relation to the shooting incident at Richneck Elementary School on 1/6/2023 located at 205 Tyner Dr, Newport News, VA 23608.
In the event that there are fees, I would request a waiver, as I am a member of the press and these records will be used in the public interest.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I would prefer the request filed electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

In reference to your request below regarding the incident that occurred on January 6, 2023 at Richneck Elementary School, in accordance with VA State Code 2.2-3706, we will not be releasing any information regarding this incident due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
