Mr. Chapman,

I am writing to confirm receipt of your 1/9/2018 request. I also wanted to let you know that Olivia James is no longer a point of contact for public records requests. The account publicrecords@nc.gov<mailto:publicrecords@nc.gov> has been set up as a contact for public records issues.

Please let us know if you have questions.

Thanks,

Charles

Mr. Chapman,

After discussing your request with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology, we are unable to fulfill it using the parameters you provided.

Could you please explain why that's the case?

From: Office of the Governor

Mr. Chapman,

We are generally unable to search or produce records without more specific information such as names, email addresses, and/or key words.

From: Matt Chapman

Are there any statutory or technical reasons why you can't provide the records? If there are statutory reasons, I would like to know what those are. If there are technical reasons, I am more than happy to offer technical assistance if it would be helpful.

Thanks and regards,
Matt Chapman,

Mr. Chapman,

We are not able to fulfill this request without more specific information. If you could provide names, email addresses or key words for us to search, we can work to complete your request.
Thanks!

From: Matt Chapman

Could you please explain any more than that?

At a technical level, this request is absolutely possible. As I mention in my original request, if your department needs any technical documentation, please let me know. Simply put - this request is a lot simpler to process than you might expect.

Thanks

From: Office of the Governor

Good morning,

My name is Ben Fulmer and I manage public record requests for the Department of Administration. I am emailing to inform you that this is the public record request inbox for the Department of Administration.

It looks like this request was submitted to the Governor's Office and is for documents that only the Governor's Office can provide. The Department of Administration is a separate department and cannot provide documents it does not have or documents for other departments. I suggest getting back in contact with the Governor's Office for further assistance.

Regards,

Ben Fulmer
