Ultimately, my goal is to understand how much money is saved or spent altering the number of polling locations. If there is a better way to request this information, I'm all ears.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Mr. Uchill,

Thank you for your interest in North Carolina elections. Unfortunately, the 100 county boards of elections in NC locate and procure Election Day polling places and early voting sites. The county boards are also responsible for paying for any costs related to those polling places, including rental fees, poll worker pay, etc.

The State Board of Elections does not have this information. If you wish to reach out to county boards of elections in NC, contact information is available here: https://click.pstmrk.it/2tsm/vt.ncsbe.gov%2FBOEInfo%2F./m1mlnzUN/DbEk/iPbypPBeVd/ZXh0ZXJuYWxfbWVzc2FnZV9hZGRlZA

I am pausing this request to see if you have any follow-up questions. If not, we will close this request on Friday, January 6.

Thanks,

Pat
