Thank you for the opportunity to clarify.
I'm seeking any and all public records in email form concerning the Governor's signing of HB 476, which prohibits agencies from contracting with anti-Israel companies.
This should include:
a. Records related to the content of the bill, including any briefs created by the governor or the staff about its origins, purpose, and standards for its enforcement.
b. Records related to the timing of the signing of this bill.
d. Records related to the legality or legal justification for the bill.
e. Communications between Governor Kasich or his staff and the governor of another state or his/her/their staff regarding the bill.
f. Communications between Governor Kasich or his staff and any of the following individuals, including government officials, regarding the bill: Reresentatives Schurling, Strahorn, Amstutz, Boyce, Brown, Celebrezze, Cara, Derickson, Driehaus, Hayes, McClain, Slesnick, Sprague, Speaker Rosenberger
g. Communication between Governor Kasich or his staff and any of the following organizations and foreign governments, or officers of the following organizations and/or foreign governments, including their agents, or individuals speaking on behalf of the following organizations and/or foreign governments regarding the bill: The Government of Israel, including The Consulate General of Israel in Philadelphia; The American Jewish Committee; The American Israel Public Affairs Committee; The Anti-Defamation League; The Israel Project; The Negev Foundation; Ohio Jewish Communities; The Jewish Federation of Cleveland; Israeli American Council
Alternatively -- please feel free to search for email communications including the words: "BDS" or "House Bill 476" or "HB 476" as a crude proxy.
In the event that that request is still not sufficiently specific, please feel free to limit the search to email of the following members of the Governor's office:
Beth Hansen
Jim Lynch
Chris Brock
Trevor Johnson
Scott Milburn
Sarah Huffman
Merle Madrid
Jason Whalen
Governor Kasich
Thank you in advance for your anticipated assistance on this matter.
Best,
Russel Neiss

Hi,
I wanted to check on the status of this request.
As you are no doubt aware the statute requires public offices to make copies of public records available “within a reasonable period of time.” Ohio Rev. Code § 149.43(B)(1). I am concerned that you are not taking this request seriously and are not promptly preparing these public records to be made available.
Do you have an estimated date of completion of this request or additional clarifying questions, or do I need to exercise my rights per §149.43(C)?
Thank you for your anticipated assistance,
Russel Neiss
