Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

I request,
1.) Disaggregated data for all use of force incidents for the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office in structured, tabular, or original database format (.csv, .txt, .xml, or .xsl), from January 1, 2020, through the date of this request
2.) A code list for the complaints, data dictionary, or definitions for any variables with coded responses.
3.) Additionally, I request detailed or written reports for incidents involving Officer Sear Patrick Grayson.

If any part of my request cannot be granted, please proceed with the remainder of the request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Our office represents the Village of Pawnee.

We are in receipt of your below email, and are providing the attached records responsive to your below FOIA request that are in the Village’s possession.

The Village does not have the possession of the Sangamon County records requested in Requests #1 or #2.

In response to Request #3, please see the attached records concerning Sean Grayson in the Village’s possession.

Pursuant to Section 7(1)(c), some personal information contained within has been redacted, the disclosure of which would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.

Pursuant to Section 7(1)(a), some other records are being withheld as "information specifically prohibited from disclosure by federal or State law or rules and regulations implementing federal or State law.” Pursuant to 42 USC 3789g, the Village is prohibited from releasing certain records obtained as part of a criminal history search. Those records responsive to your request are being withheld from production.

You have a right to have this denial reviewed by the Public Access Counselor, who can be reached at the Office of the Attorney General, 500 S. 2nd Street, Springfield, IL 62701 or 1-877-299-3642. You also have a right to judicial review of this denial under Section 11 of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
