Good Morning,
The City of Pittsburg is in receipt of your California Public Records Act (CPRA) request.
The CPRA request you originally faxed to the City of Pittsburg is dated January 30, 2019 (see attachment). Today, you faxed us a "follow up" to your request; however, you referenced a January 23, 2019 CPRA request which the City of Pittsburg never received until today (see attachment for follow up request).
Pursuant to the CPRA, a public entity is required to respond within 10 days from the "receipt of the request" (California Government Code Section 6253(c)). The City of Pittsburg will respond to your January 30, 2019 in such time.
Respectfully,
Cady R. Richards

The City of Pittsburg received your records request, dated January 30, 2019
The City is in the process of identifying records which may be responsive to your request. Processing your request requires City staff to do one or more of the following:
1. Search for, collect and appropriately examine a voluminous amount of separate and distinct records that are demanded in a single request; and/or
1. Compile data, to write programming language or a computer program, or to construct a computer report to extract data.
Accordingly, the time for responding to your request is extended by an additional 14 days as authorized by California Government Code section 6253(c). The City will provide a response within the next 14 days further addressing the extent to which there are non-exempt records in the City's possession that will be made available, whether any responsive records may be exempt from disclosure as authorized by law, and any current information on the costs that you as the requester shall bear pursuant to Government Code Section 6253.9.
Brian Addington, in his capacity as Chief of Police, is responsible for the above determinations concerning your records request. If you have questions about this matter, please contact me at 925-252-4993 or at the email address below. Sincerely,
Joyce Lowe

Good Afternoon,
The City of Pittsburg "City" has identified records responsive to your California Public Records Act "CPRA" request dated January 30, 2019 (please reference your attached request). Government Code 6252(e) does not require the City to create a public record in response to a CPRA request; however, doing so is occasionally more efficient for the City to respond to, as is the case in regard to your CPRA request.
