From: Josh Chamberlain
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Right to Know Act, I hereby request the following records:
1. A summary of traffic stops made by Pittsburgh Police between 1/1/23 and 3/31/23. Please provide these in the same format as my previous request: 129-01-2023.
2. A data dictionary describing the properties present in the table, and how they relate to other records.
3. Any additional training materials or documentation for how this data is created or how it should be used internally.
If any part of this request is denied, please move forward with the remainder of the request and cite the relevant provisions in state law which justify the denial.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Josh Chamberlain

TrafficStops_ Chamberlain RTK04-02-2023 As of 5-8-2023
From: Josh Chamberlain
Hi Ms. Hotham,
Thank you for this document. It meets part of the request, but there are some issues:
1. It is missing some properties which were present on the previous document: STOP_ID, REPORT_ID, NBR_OF_OCCUP, FINDING_NA, PERSON_ID, CENSUS, and NEIGHBORHOOD. Can you explain why these would be omitted?
2. I requested a data dictionary describing the properties present in the table, and how they relate to other records. Is there no such document which describes these properties? For example, how would someone know what "FINDING_NA" means, or "REPORT_ID"?
3. I requested any additional training materials or documentation for how this data is created or how it should be used internally. Are there no documents related to training officers to collect data during traffic stops?
Thank you.
