From: Kristina Block
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Oregon Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting data on crime incidents—those classified by your agency as crimes—rather than calls for service or unfounded incidents.
• Year(s) Requested: 2009, 2011, and 2013
• Columns Requested: Incident date, Incident time, Type of crime (e.g., robbery, theft, etc.), Incident ID, and all other available columns that do not require additional processing by the agency or redaction.
If the data are stored in a proprietary or custom electronic format not publicly available, I request that it be converted to a format viewable with standard software, such as Microsoft Excel or CSV. Please avoid providing data in PDF or paper printouts.
This request is made to support academic research conducted in the public interest and is not for commercial purposes. The data will contribute to a research project assessing the effect of music concerts on crime, aiming to enhance public understanding of how large events influence community safety.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.
Sincerely,
Kristina Block

The City may be the custodian of at least some of the requested public records and a payment is due to continue processing this request. Please log into the Portland Public Records Request Center to pay these fees.
Fees include research time to locate and analyze the requested records, even if no records are located or if the requested records are determined to be exempt from disclosure. We will not be working on your request until we receive the payment.
Please log in to the Portland Public Records Request Center (copy and right click this link to open it in your browser) and make a payment on this request.
You may pay by electronic check or credit card by going to "My Public Records Request Center" and select "View My Invoices." Then scroll to find your open invoice and select "Make Payment." Follow the screen prompts to make a payment.

At this time, the City is uncertain whether it is the custodian of the requested record. The City will review your request to determine if it has responsive records. The City will then gather an estimate of the costs to provide copies of requested public records for which the City does not claim an exemption from disclosure. The City is permitted to charge its actual costs to provide records.
