Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:

–A list of every hospital, clinic, or other institution that provides sexual assault forensic exams administered by a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Hello Vanessa,
I am writing in reply to your request for a list of every hospital, clinic, or other institution that provides sexual assault forensic exams administered by a certified sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE). The Rhode Island Department of Health is not in possession of any documents that are responsive to your request. The Rhode Island Department of Health receives sexual assault evidence collection kits from all emergency departments at all hospitals in Rhode Island. However, SANE is not a certification that the state issues or requires, so we do not maintain a list of SANE certified healthcare providers.
