Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
1. The total number of use of force incidents, broken down by type of force used, from 2013-2018 (separated by year).
2. The total number of use of force complaints reported to the sheriff’s department and (separately) the total number of use of force complaints that were sustained from 2013-2018 (separated by year).
3. The current sheriff’s deputies union contract
4. The current sheriff’s department policy manual
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Could you please clarify your request? Specifically item #4, the current sheriff’s department policy manual. The Department is in the process of transitioning to a Lexipol manual, but is still in the revision process. The tentative release date will be in February 2020. It would be helpful if you could narrow down your request so we might better respond to your request.
