Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting data on crime incidents—those classified by your agency as crimes—rather than calls for service or unfounded incidents.
• Year(s) Requested: 2009
• Columns Requested: Incident date, Incident time, Type of crime (e.g., robbery, theft, etc.), Incident ID, and all other available columns that do not require additional processing by the agency or redaction.
If the data are stored in a proprietary or custom electronic format not publicly available, I request that it be converted to a format viewable with standard software, such as Microsoft Excel or CSV. Please avoid providing data in PDF or paper printouts.
This request is made to support academic research conducted in the public interest and is not for commercial purposes. The data will contribute to a research project assessing the effect of music concerts on crime, aiming to enhance public understanding of how large events influence community safety.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Kristina Block,
The Village of Rosemont ("Village") received a Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA") request from you on February 10, 2025. You requested the following information: “To Whom It May Concern:The Village does not keep the requested records in the form that you requested. Instead, the Village has about 2,000 arrest reports during the 2009 year. Accordingly, the Village is considering your request to be a "voluminous request" under section 3.6 of the FOIA because it requires the compilation of more than 500 pages of records.

Under section 3.6 of the FOIA, you must respond to the Village within 10 business days and specify whether you would like to amend the request in such a way that the Village will no longer treat the request as a voluminous request. If you do not respond within 10 business days or if the request continues to be a voluminous request following your response, then the Village will respond to the request and assess fees under section 6 of the FOIA, which must be paid by you before the Village discloses the records. Alternatively, if you do not amend your request in such a way that the Village will no longer treat the request as a voluminous request, then the Village will consider the request to be "unduly burdensome" under section 3(g) of the FOIA.
