The Legal and BWC (Body Worn Camera) Units are experiencing a heavy backlog of PRA requests. Each document (“documents” include but are not limited to photos, BWC, physical copies of records, and electronically stored records) must be reviewed for exemptions to the CPRA, and those exemptions must be redacted before our release to you. When the SFPD determines that responsive and non-exempt documents are available, we will produce them to you as soon as practicable and, if necessary, on an incremental or rolling basis.
Requests that are time sensitive, such as those with pending court dates, claims, any additional legal matters, etc.- are given priority. Please advise if you have an upcoming court hearing or if you only need documents from specific officers to expedite your request.
