Pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
I request the following records related to the arrest of Alicia A. Orzel on June 30, 2023, at approximately 3:48 p.m. in the town of Edgewater on Lake Chetac:
All body-worn camera footage from deputies involved in the incident.
All dash camera footage from patrol vehicles present during the incident.
Incident and arrest reports detailing the circumstances of the arrest.
Any rear seat camera footage from patrol vehicles transporting Ms. Orzel.
Any other relevant audio or video recordings related to this incident.
This request pertains to charges of felony battery to a sheriff’s deputy and misdemeanor disorderly conduct during a child custody dispute.
I request a fee waiver as disclosure of these records serves the public interest by providing insight into law enforcement procedures and public safety matters, not for commercial gain.
Please provide the requested records in electronic format. If any records are exempt from disclosure, please specify the exemption and release any segregable portions.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I received your Open Records Request regarding:
Incidents involving Alicia A. Orzel, from June 30, 2023 for all BWC, Incident and Arrest Reports, All Dash Camera Footage
The Sheriff's Office did not have Dash Cam at this time of incident.
We are in receipt of your request and will get this released as soon as possible.
Releasing your record in a more timely manner is now possible with our portal at https://sawyercountywi.nextrequest.
Here, in our portal you can upload documents, pay online and receive all records in an email.
Otherwise, we will notify you upon completion and all records will be released upon receiving payment in physical medium format.
Open Records are released in order received
Reproduction cost of $0.25 cents a page, plus $1.92 for each five-minutes, reflecting the assumed staff time involved to scan the document, attach it, and e-mailing, will be assessed. If manual research is required for retrieval, a fee will be determined in addition to the reproduction cost. According to Wisconsin Statute § 19.35(3) (c), we may charge the actual and necessary location costs using the locator’s hourly wage as the base cost. Redaction cost will apply due to financial gain status. Redaction cost is based on the lowest paid employee’s hourly wage capable of performing the task. A representative of a person(s) on the report will be subject to a $1.92 redaction cost.
Estimated Cost is $24.79
Due to the high demand for Open Records Request the estimated time is one month.
Please provide a waiver from the person(s) on the record releasing the images of them, and if any, of minor children present in the report, which would save redaction time.
You will receive a notice upon completion of processing your request of the Open Record, if a response isn’t received within 10 business days, we will consider the request abandoned and closed.
We accept Check, Money Order or Cash at the Sheriff’s Office.

Records will be released upon receiving payment.

I can get these records released in one of two ways.
Please mail your payment in to: Sawyer County Sheriff's Office, PO Box 567 Hayward 54843 in the amount of $24.79, we accept cash or money order.
In return we will mail the material to the return address provided on payment.
We can also release the records through our portal at sawyercountywi.nextrequest.com.
Here you will be able to pay-online, once that payment is received the material will be release through email that is provided in portal.
Please let me know what you would like to do and I will get the material in ready format.
