Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
All communications, reports, plans, documentations, calendar entries or agreements between district and BOCES and or third parties regarding school climate surveys (i.e. EDSCLS) for the previous 5 years.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

This email is in response to your email request for information under
FOIL. Please be advised, the District does not respond to email requests
for FOIL information via drop box or portals. Our Data Privacy policies do
not allow the district to click on links that are suspicious or otherwise
not determined to be legitimate to protect the integrity of school district
data. We also do not respond to FOIL requests without a contact name AND
telephone number for the individual receiving the information, in order to
determine the point of contact receiving such records. Accordingly, this
particular request for information under FOIL is denied. If you would like
to provide this information (*name, address AND telephone number*) to which
we can respond we will reconsider your request. I have attached a copy of
the Board of Education Public Access to School Records Policy.
Should you wish to appeal this determination, you may appeal it to Thomas

Dear Superintendent Yorke:
I am writing to appeal the determination made by the Records Access Officer of Sharon Springs Central School to deny my request for information under the New York Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) on the grounds that I did not provide my name, address, and telephone number.
I would like to clarify that New York FOIL law does not require requestors to provide personal information to receive FOIL responses. My original request included all of the necessary information for the district to respond to my request, including my name and contact information.
I would appreciate it if you would reconsider my FOIL request and provide a response to my request for records related to the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Council on School Health, as outlined in my original request. If any further information is required from me, please let me know as soon as possible.
Please confirm receipt of this appeal letter and provide an estimated timeline for when I can expect a response. If my request is still denied in whole or in part, please provide a written explanation of the reasons for the denial, including any legal or factual basis for the determination.
