To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
- Any complaints reported against St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office deputies assigned as school resource officers between Jan. 1, 2009 and Nov. 1, 2019.
- Any records of disciplinary actions taken against sheriff's SROs during the above-mentioned time period.
- Any spreadsheets, logs, or other records tracking misconduct lawsuits against sheriff's SROs during the above-mentioned time period.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

We have received your public records request and cannot provide you with these records without an expenditure of an exorbitant amount of time - frankly, I cannot even at this stage estimate how many hours it would take, but it will be many. The reason for this is our records keeping system does not allow us to simply search and produce records for all school resource officers during a 10 year period - it would require a manual searching of records to produce anything, if anything is et all responsive to your request. If you would like to contact me I can explain further, and work with you to see if there is some manner in which we can narrow the scope of your request that would enable us to provide the information you are seeking.
