Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
Emails sent to or received from El Salvador's government regarding the September 2023 visit of Sheriff Errol Toulon and Deputy Sheriff Kevin Catalina to El Salvador. You may limit the search to the period between February 2023 and the date this request is received.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Hello Mr. Petti
I have received your FOIL request for email communications between the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office and the government of El Salvador. Those records are exempt from FOIL under P.O.L 187 2 f, g in that they are inter agency communications and that they contain logistical/security information about the travel plans of publicly known law enforcement officials and the disclosure of such logistical information could endanger the life or safety of any person.
