Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:
All internal communications (emails, text messages, or other memos between personnel) pertaining to: changes or modifications in enforcement practices, which encouraged or discouraged increases or decreases in citations issued, vehicle searches performed, arrests made, traffic stops, or other common enforcement measures. Also, internal communications which made or suggested adjustments in the level of policing activity in specific geographic areas of Tallahassee/Leon County. Finally, we also request communications between law enforcement departments that have jurisdiction over Tallahassee/Leon County that satisfy the previously mentioned criteria.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

No specific timeframe, as soon as is reasonable will be fine. There are not specific keywords. The most pertinent piece is any emails from TPD leadership encouraging or discouraging an increase or decrease in enforcement activities, especially as it relates to Frenchtown and Southside.

As you can imagine, with no timeframe (i.e. dates) or keywords to search our emails and text messages, this can result in extensive staff time and can become costly. If there is something specific you are looking for or a specific timeframe (i.e. the last year, last six months), this will aide in the search and the staff time it will require to conduct the search. Please let us know if you have a timeframe or keyword or if you would like us to proceed as is. If so, we will provide you with an estimated invoice for staff time. Thank you.

Hello,
Can you explain what the miscellaneous items charge is? Additionally, can you upload the documents or email them? A DVD seems archaic.

The files are too large to transmit all at once electronically - they can be split up in separate emails if that's an option for you. Our 'miscellaneous' field is what we use on invoices to reflect costs for time taken to furnish requests. In this case, it took 10 hours to review each email for release, so the charge is our hourly rate ($13.42) multiplied by ten.
